Heather Hazzan, MSW, LCSW-S

Heather is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Supervisor in the state of Texas. She earned her MSW from the University of Houston in 2017. During her time at the University of Houston, Heather was awarded a GLOBE Youth Fellowship that focused on working with youth and young adults. During her fellowship Heather gained specialized training in behavioral health treatments and cultural competence. Heather earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University in 2010. 

During her career, Heather has had experience in a multitude of settings including a Residential Facility focused on substance abuse and eating disorders for adults and adolescents, Juvenile Probation, Private Practice, and School Social Work working with students of all ages and their families. Throughout all of her career settings Heather has provided counseling to her clients to help them through their journey and empower clients to become the best version of themselves. 

Heather is a client centered clinician and customizes her approach to counseling for each client. She understands each person's journey is different and each person has their own story to tell. Heather’s approach to counseling is strengths based utilizing evidence based practices such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Trauma Informed Care. In recent years Heather has been focused on Trauma Informed Care and has been honing in on how our adverse childhood traumas affect our adult lives.
