Michelle Gelnaw, LPC

Michelle has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2012. She has been in education for 30 years as a teacher and counselor. Michelle is passionate about working with clients in the community through Know your Worth Counseling and Wellness. She earned her Master's Degree at Texas Women's University in 2010 and has had the privilege of providing services on topics such as grief, divorce, anxiety, depression, trauma and self-esteem.  

Michelle believes that each individual is unique and special. She works to build a counseling relationship that includes trust, acceptance and empathy. This helps build a space where clients can fully express themselves and process their difficult situations and move towards healing. She believes that since we are all unique it is important to use a variety of techniques and theories to help clients reach their goals.

Michelle strives to create a safe and encouraging environment that sets a client at ease. She believes in partnering with the client to set goals. Her ultimate goal in counseling is to provide the client with insights and tools they can use to promote healing.

When Michelle is not working she is enjoying time with her family.  She has two daughters and a husband who keep her busy. She likes to go to movies, sew, travel and play cards in her free time.  She thrives on building relationships and helping others.
